Happy Lunar New Year! The New Moon in Aquarius welcomes us to 2023 with a fresh restart, and a reminder of how things are quickly changing this year. This is the last lunation with Saturn co-present in Aquarius, and his conjunction with Venus has us reflecting on the journey through this sign since 2020. Jupiter makes a helpful and optimistic sextile to the New Moon, giving us a little joy and feeling of abundance during the heart of winter.

The first Full Moon of 2023 is in Cancer and offers a sweet and dreamy escape from the hardworking Capricorn energies and the current Mercury retrograde. Gentle aspects from Neptune and Uranus encourage healing and growth. Mars will also finally station direct in the sign of Gemini, bringing to an end a months long process of review and reflection of our actions and motivations.

The New Moon in Capricorn connects with the powerful Jupiter in Aries, putting our motivation and desires into overdrive. We’ll be pulled to accomplish in different directions, and have to be careful to not overdo it. Mercury will also station retrograde in Capricorn on December 29th, reviewing much of the work we’ve started under this New Moon.

The Full Moon in Gemini is a moment of all or nothing. Mars retrograde present with the Moon will push us to take great action or create great separation in different areas of our life. Things may get hot, or a little fiery. Open the lines of communication, but be careful about what is actually said. As Mercury and Venus shift into Capricorn, the earth signs allow us to get a little more grounded.

November opens out with the Full Moon and Total Lunar Eclipse in Taurus, conjunct Uranus, which may bring destabilizing and chaotic energy alive. Here we are celebrating what we have accomplished since the New Moon six months ago, but also looking for new ways to move forward that may disrupt the status quo and push us to think outside of the box.

The New Moon / Partial Solar Eclipse opens us up to Scorpio and eclipse season. Here we are asked to start new in an area we have previously cleansed and let go of. This Scorpio New Moon may uncover some secrets or hidden information in our life, asking us to find the balance between control and trusting the process.

The Full Moon in Aries asks us to look at our own individuality in the midst of increased focus on relationships. This Moon may illuminate a wound or area of healing we need to tend to, as the Full Moon sits next to Chiron. Mars is in a confusing square to Neptune, getting closer to its point of retrograde. However, helpful aspects between Sun & Venus with Saturn & Mars can bring some stability.

September’s New Moon in Libra provides a fresh start with our relationships and helps us create meaningful and lasting connections with others. Venus still in Virgo encourages us to clean out and organize what hasn’t been working and what needs a little redecoration. We will be reviewing a lot of structures and challenges this lunation, as the Saturn-Uranus square comes to a close.
