The first Full Moon of Fall arrives in Aries on September 29, 2023, at 5:57am EDT. While this Full Moon is not an eclipse, it does relate back to the first eclipse we had in Aries on April 20, 2023, and speaks to the next eclipse we’ll have in this sign on April 8, 2024. There is also an additional foreshadowing event as the ruler of this Full Moon, Mars, sits in Libra at 21°, the same degree as where the next eclipse will occur on October 14th. This can be a frustrating lunation that highlights the challenges we’re experiencing, and increase the tension of feeling more limited or contained with our work.

The earthy New Moon in Virgo arrives on September 14th, 2023 at 9:39 pm EDT, right at 21°, the same degree that Mercury stationed retrograde at on August 23rd. During the same time of this lunation, Mercury is now stopped in their tracks to station direct. All this information coupled with the fact that Mercury rules and is exalted in Virgo, this New Moon is extremely mercurial in nature. A mercurial character is related to our thoughts, mind, internal processing, ability to think, reason, and logic throughout life.

The gorgeous super blue moon in Pisces occurs on August 30th, 2023 at 9:36 pm ET. Virgo season has been heavy on the details, especially regarding practical material needs that demand work and attention. But this lunation pulls us back into our feelings, emotions, and how we exist in life outside of everything we control. Pisces views our world within the system of collective experience, reminding us that we don’t live in isolation, and that every event or interaction we have is connected to another in some way.

A fiery and fresh New Moon in Leo arrives on August 16th, 2023 at 5:38am EDT. The sign of Leo is ruled by the Sun, which represents our spirit, mind, and self-expression as well as visibility. Leo loves applause, recognition, and spotlight because there’s a uniqueness and excitement to when you find that ONE thing that makes you inspired to exist and shine. Later on during this lunation, the Sun will enter Virgo and Mercury with station retrograde, pulling us into the details.

The Full Moon in Aquarius reflects out to the world all the internal work we have been doing with ourselves and our lives. This a beautiful moment of completion from whatever may’ve began in late January. At the same time, Mars and Mercury are gaining momentum in Virgo, lighting up that area of our chart and creating a little tension with Saturn in Pisces but excitement with Jupiter in Taurus. But by finding flow and trusting ourselves, this can be a moment of change and growth.

The New Moon in Cancer occurring on July 17, 2023 is a beautiful return and retreat back into our bodies and where we find love, meaning, and support. There is a reconciliation occurring between our mind/thoughts and body/intuition. The lunation makes an aspect to Neptune and Pluto, promoting a larger shift in our overall society and community. Mars in Virgo will then make a frustrating square to Saturn on July 20th, highlighting limitations and blockages to our goals and growth.

This is the last lunation with Saturn co-present in Aquarius, and his conjunction with Venus has us reflecting on the journey through this sign since 2020. Jupiter makes a helpful and optimistic sextile to the New Moon, giving us a little joy and feeling of abundance during the heart of winter.
