Uranus is an outer planet in our solar system who sits right outside the boundaries of the visible eye, past Saturn. Of course, we saw other breakthroughs, like the rise of AI, which subsequently also results in increased greenhouse gas emissions and heating of the Earth.
Gemini is an air sign, which relates more to ideas, sharing information, and technological advancement as well as travel and engaging in theoretical debates. As Uranus takes about eighty-four years to move through the entire zodiac, the last time Uranus was in Gemini was during World War II from 1941 through 1949. And we did see some major technological breakthroughs during that time period, including the atomic bomb, the first programmable digital electronic computer, the first general purpose electronic computer, and exponential expansion of medicines such as penicillin and advances in treatment.
But unfortunately, war is a common theme for Uranus in Gemini, especially within the United States. When Uranus first dipped into Gemini in August 1941 through October 1941, the United States began its initial involvement after the USS Greer incident, and the US Navy began to attack Axis ships in self-defense in the Atlantic. Shortly after, the United States officially joined WWII. At the end of the Uranus in Gemini period, Cold War tensions were ramping up to the point Hollywood was blacklisting celebrities and other producers who were suspected of communist ties.
If we go back another eighty-four years, Uranus was in Gemini during the Civil War. The initial entrance of Uranus in Gemini in June 1858 through December 1858 led to the rise of the Lincoln-Douglas debates, the rise of Lincoln himself, and sectional tensions over slavery. Uranus was in Gemini during the entirety of the Civil War, and helped initiate the rebuilding process and freedom of slaves from the post-war.
The United States itself, as a country, has a birthchart that holds Uranus in Gemini as well. This follows the same theme as the US was created after the Revolutionary war, following its defeat of British control. Wars are a central part of the creation of the United States as we know it, and every time Uranus returns to Gemini, we seem to find ourselves in another conflict or aggression whether of our own doing or joining in with the external conflicts of the world.
Uranus will first enter Gemini on July 7th, 2025 where it will station retrograde on September 5th, 2025. It will return to Taurus on November 8th, 2025 but reenter Gemini for good on April 26, 2026. It won’t leave Gemini until August 4, 2032, but will dip back into the air sign on December 12, 2032 until May 23, 2033.
With this first ingress in July, we are initiating a new 7-8 year cycle of change, disruption, and potentially new conflicts for our country and the world at large. I do expect the United States to begin more official involvement with an international conflict or war, and potentially within the country itself. We may see the seeds of that this Summer, and the actual consequences in Spring 2026.
